The aspirants acknowledge the significance of “Exam Preparations” and prepare rigorously to grab their dream job. Now, the most thoughtful questions, which arises is where and how to prepare to achieve goals?

In the Government Sector, SBI PO is the most highly anticipated and well-esteemed exams as they provide aspirants with handsome salaries along with lots of perks and facilities that no other bank provides. Besides Job Security and experience based promotions, the SBI provides you with other great benefits such as lesser working hours, a pay equivalent to any reputed corporate sector, medical, housing, loans, childcare etc.

After knowing the generosity of benefits and luxuries which SBI jobs offer, every aspirant would be whole-heartedly enthusiastic to prepare for SBI PO Exams. Before planning a rigorous exam preparation, the aspirant should be aware of the examination pattern. Thereafter, he or she should plan a systematic schedule for the preparations to complete the syllabus in time.

The SBI PO exam consists of following phases -

1. Preliminary Phase
2. Mains Phase
3. Interview

The Preliminary Phase of the examination will consist of the following sections –
  1. General English – This section is of 30 marks with 30 questions in it.
  2. Quantitative Aptitude- This section is of 35 marks with 35 questions in it.
  3. Logical Reasoning- This section is of 35 marks with 35 questions in it.
Section-wise strategy :

English Section
The English Section offers duration of 20 minutes to solve 30 questions. The students will feel relax in attempting this section. Previously speaking, the students have a frame of mind of doing the English section within 10-15 minutes and in this manner they would try to solve questions of the Quantitative Aptitude or the Reasoning Ability Section that are comparatively complex and time-consuming. But, to their disappointment, this strategy won't be working anymore because 20 minutes out of the total 60 minutes have to be given exclusively to English Section as per the SBI Notification.

Let us discuss the strategy to triumph English Section.
  • The students should practice more and more questions by using Android Mobile, available on Google Play Store.
  • They still have sufficient time of 2 months to grasp maximum basic knowledge of English, so they should make the best of these 2 months. It will help them in attempting maximum questions in the examination.
  • While attempting this section, the main priority should be accuracy of your performance. There would be many students attempting maximum number of the questions in this section which will give them the maximum average time for each question (20 minutes for 30 questions).
  • The students who are weak in English should try and choose to attempt Reading Comprehension as it will give them sufficient time to read and understand. The best aspect about Reading Comprehension is that it doesn’t test English Grammar, and one can accomplish it by using his/her common sense.
  • The Reading Comprehension section should be attempted with a planned strategy. The questions based on vocabulary and phrases should be attempted first followed by questions which demands deep penetration of reading the entire paragraphs.
  • The most significant topics for Cloze Test are subject-verb agreement, preposition, and verbs. These topics will further help you in dealing with questions based on grammar. While attempting the examination, do make sure that you have thoroughly master these topics.
Quantitative Aptitude Section
In the past, the students used to spend valuable 25-27 minutes in attempting this section but now this will not happen. According to SBI regulations, the time allotted for this section is just 20 minutes, so, you have to be mentally alert and well-prepared to score phenomenally in Quantitative Aptitude Section.
  • This section demands lots of hard work and sincerity as the questions asked in this section are highly calculative as well as time-consuming in nature. The student will get only 20 minutes to solve 35 questions.
  • The students should try to attempt the quizzes or speed tests on a regular basis, without skipping a single day.
  • While attempting this examination, do try to attempt questions which are based on Quadratic Equations, Simplification, and Approximation, and Number Series first. This will help you in solving maximum questions in minimum time.
  • After competently attempting questions in this section, the students should now go for Data Interpretation. In Data Interpretation section, 3 questions are presumably achievable while the rest 2 are relatively tricky and complex in nature. So, it is always advisable to attempt at least those 3 questions with efficiency and accuracy.
  • The rest of the questions will be based on arithmetic miscellaneous topics like CI & SI, Time and Work, Pipes, and Cisterns, Partnership, etc. If the time is running short then do try to attempt the questions on these topics in the end.
Reasoning Section
The Reasoning Ability is considered to be a time-consuming section, and with the increasing complexity of questions, it becomes hard for one to give it the cold shoulder. The best possible way to master it in the forthcoming SBI PO Prelims is to practice harder with all your dedicated and sincere efforts.
  • The students should try to attempt maximum number of questions in this section in minimum time by attempting the difficult puzzles in the end.
  • The students should first start the questions which are based on inequalities, direction and distance, syllogism, coding-decoding, alphanumeric series, and other such random topics. Thereafter, they can attempt questions based on puzzles.
  • Subsequently speaking, they should then try to solve with easier puzzle questions followed by moderate and difficult questions.
According to the new pattern of SBI PO Prelims Exam, the students will have sufficient time to prepare themselves for the examination. The students should be well-informed and determined about all the new pattern, syllabus details and itinerary of exam proceedings. Every year, the banking exams always bring new changes in patterns and styles, so one should have the adaptability in adjusting to it.

So, keep the good work on, practice hard and hard, till you achieve your goals.
